On 11 August 2022, the Cybersecurity Tech Accord was honoured to accept an invitation to deliver a presentation during the session of the UN Conference on Disarmament that took place at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. The thematic event organised by the President of the Conference on Disarmament, H.E. Ambassador Paul EMPOLE LOSOKO EFAMBE of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, was titled: “The Centrality of International Cooperation and Capacity Building in building a safe and secure cyberspace”, and focused on capacity building and international cooperation. The Tech Accord was represented by Edoardo Ravaioli, Head of the Secretariat, who delivered remarks on the role of stakeholders in supporting state capacity-building in the area of ICT security, with a particular focus on the potential of cooperation between governments and the private sector in building cybersecurity capacity. Our statement was well received by states and the wider multistakeholder community, and we look forward to being able to continue facilitating industry engagement with the UN Conference on Disarmament moving forward. The Cybersecurity Tech Accord will continue to serve as the voice of the technology industry on matters of peace and security online. Our statement and closing remarks can be read in full below.
